Final From the Field
By Jeanette Gottlieb
As PCIA dissolves itself, I personally want to thank all those who served on the board over the years. Special thanks go to Jackie and Doug who had the idea of a reunion in Portland which led to the organization of PCIA and to Charles Kaminski who guided us through our final steps.
Also, I wish to acknowledge, all of our members and the members of the Iranian-American community who contributed time, ideas, their talents, and money to make our conferences so successful and meaningful.
There are many others besides board members who played important parts as editors, advocates, and support for the many projects PCIA undertook and who made the outstanding achievements of an all-volunteer organization possible.
The final KhabarNameh shares our history. It is a fitting closure document which I hope all have read. For all of us PCIA has provide us means of reconnecting with an important time in our lives and the people with whom we served. It has also led to new friendship and given us the opportunity continue the Third Goal of Peace Corps. Our work is archived at American University and in the Museum of the Peace Corps Experience. We can still contribute to those archives. We can also stay connected through NPCA’s Peace Corp Connect+, Iran RPCV.
