The advocacy panel at the October 2025 PCIA conference will focus on “Iran Today and the Way Forward for Diplomatic Openings.” The topic feels more vital and problematic by the day. We have identified four outstanding panelists who will each be able to draw on their personal experiences and academic research to share perspectives on challenges faced by the Iranian government in a rapidly changing region. The panelists include John Limbert, Barbara Slavin, James Miller and Trita Parsi. They bring expertise in history, diplomacy, advocacy, public health, and deep personal knowledge of Iran-US relations. They will look at what has and has not worked in the past and, given the regional traumas suffered in the recent past and the current compositions of governments in the US, Iran, Israel and multiple European countries, what possibilities exist for renewed engagement and a peaceful path to a better future for the peoples of all concerned countries.
