The American University Archives office is located in the AU Spring Valley Building in Suite 204/205 on the 2nd floor, at 4801 Massachusetts Ave. about 1 mile from the main campus.
FOR DRIVERS TO THE ARCHIVE VIA AUTOMOBILE …
There is a parking garage with pay-as-you-go fare machines located under the building – the entrance is off Massachusetts Avenue just before the PNC bank. Additional information about campus parking can be found via the AU Parking Services website.
FOR TRAVEL FROM THE CONFERENCE HOTEL VIA METRO …
Meet Peter and Barbara Deekle in the lobby of the Grand Hyatt at 9:00 a.m.
Proceed to Metro Center Metro stop from the Grand Hyatt Atrium through the glass doors to the right of the guest elevators. Follow signs to Metro. Take Red Line toward Shady Grove. Get off Metro at Tenleytown Metro Station stop.
There are free University shuttle services available to get to and from the Spring Valley Building. The Red Route Express runs between SVB and the Tenleytown Metro Station and stops at the Katzen Arts Center at Main Campus in between.
Please Note: Guests visiting the Spring Valley Building are required to use the PIN 9352 in order to enter the parking garage and the main building entrance on Massachusetts Ave. There is a PIN pad at the entrance of the parking garage and a PIN pad at the front building entrance located in the foyer just inside the first set of doors. When you arrive in the Spring Valley Building (4801 Massachusetts Ave NW), the Archive is located on the 2nd floor in Suite 204/205, just up the set of stairs which you will see past the elevators. Please ring the doorbell and one of our team members will meet you.
