Reading Farrokhzad’s Poems Poetically: Kerry Segel, Michael Hillmann
“It is only sound that remains” wrote Forugh Farrokhzad in one of her last published poems. In reality, it is her poetry—the sound, the visual representation, the meaning that is with us today. In this session, Michael Hillmann discusses how her works, in English as well as Persian, have fared as poetry sixty years after her passing. All examples are provided visually with English translations.
