Versions of Shervin Hajipour’s protest song “Baraye” introduce the panel. An award-winning documentary film “A Move,” directed by Elahe Esmaili, shows the continuing effect of protests over the death of Mahsa Amini on the life of a typical family in Meshad. Washington Post journalist Yeganeh Torbati and Santa Monica College Professor Elham Gheytanchi respond to the film and provide their perspectives on the present and future of domestic protest in Iran in conversation with moderator Narimon Safavi.
